For students who may be hesitant to begin yoga due to common back issues such as weakness, stiffness, and sciatica as well as shoulder tightness and related neck tension. The class is also appropriate for beginners new to Iyengar yoga because the focus will be on the foundational poses and actions for further progression. The emphasis of the class will be to develop strength, balance, and flexibility for optimal spinal health and alignment (improved posture).  Please consult your doctor if you are unsure if yoga is advised for your condition.
