We will practice poses using props to support the body in various ways. With this support we will bring our awareness to different parts of the body through the breath. From ancient times, yoga practitioners sensed the relationship between the body, breath, and mind, how one impacts the other. We will experience this relationship through the practice seeking to cultivate a reflective rather then a reactive consciousness. Students should be familiar with headstand and shoulderstand or an appropriate modification. Practice of Iyengar yoga is required to participate.
The timing of this class is meant to offer a time of quiet and reflection as we enter the New Year.
